Bill to Abolish Abortion Filed in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS — Illinois State Senator Neil Anderson has introduced Senate Bill 3572, the Abolish Abortion Illinois Act, which would criminalize abortion as murder.

Senate Bill 3572 would establish equal protection of the laws for preborn babies, extending the state homicide, assault, and wrongful death laws already protecting born people to protect preborn babies as well. The legislation indeed notes that “all preborn children should be protected with the same criminal and civil laws protecting the lives of born persons by repealing provisions that permit prenatal homicide and battery.”

Under this legislation, anyone who willfully takes part in murdering a preborn baby can be subject to criminal and civil penalties, including the father, the mother, and the third-party abortionist.

Illinois has some of the most permissive abortion laws in the nation, currently protecting abortion through “viability” and functionally allowing abortions after “viability” through loose regulations. Senate Bill 3572 is a powerful witness against abortion in Illinois, calling on the Prairie State to repent of child sacrifice and bow the knee to the risen and ascended Jesus Christ, who is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

The legislation is also meant as a rallying cry for Christians in the state of Illinois to strengthen their witness against abortion before their elected officials and the broader culture.

Illinois lawmakers have the duty before God to fulfill their oaths under the United States Constitution and the Illinois Constitution by establishing equal protection of the laws for all persons, whether they are born or preborn, and by abolishing abortion in the state.
